Description

While working on the first phase of the Land Grant Frescoes, Poor received the commission to paint the official portrait of Ralph D. Hetzel, president of Penn State during the period in which the murals where created. This drawing is a preparatory sketch, squared to facilitate the transfer of the image, possibly to a larger color study. The portrait of President Hetzel now hangs on the first floor of Old Main’s east wing.
