Description
Mildred Cummings was the wife of Willard (Bill) Cummings, a New England portrait painter, who, together with Henry Varnum Poor and several other artists, founded the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture in 1946. Two years later, Cummings traveled with Poor to Penn State, where he served as plasterer for the painting of the murals during the March 1948 session.
