Description
Dated “approximately 1950” by the artist’s daughter, Anne Poor, this superb pastel is stylistically consistent with Poor’s work at that time. Between late November 1949 and December 1950, however, Poor was in Italy, and it’s not likely that during that stay he would have encountered a boat bearing an English name. The drawing might thus more probably date from the late 1940s or early 1950s.
