Title

Egyptian Beni Hasan
As depicted in the Beni Hasan Tomb paintings, spinning techniques are practiced by both men and women in the Middle Kingdom Egypt (from the end of 11th dynasty to the middle of the 12th dynasty). Men and women are portrayed separately on different rows of the wall paintings, while all of the women are supervised by men standing at the beginning of the row. The textile production can be concluded as following steps:

Preparing the thread --- Splicing --- Spinning --- Weaving (by the loom) --- Netting and making mats --- Washing
